March 2014

What have we been up to lately...

We visited Gnomesville to see if the gnomes were all still there.
We made some coloured rice to play with.
 White rice...
 Turns into blue rice...
 Turns into mutli-coloured rice...
Turns into rainbow rice.
All the babies enjoyed a picnic with rainbow rice.

School had a 'dress as a farmer day', to raise money for Eastern States farmers.
We found a packet of water beads in the cupboard. K enjoyed them for about two weeks on the trampoline, seeing how high she could make them bounce.
Each day, we added another handful or two to the trampoline and K jumped until they were all squashed.

After they were all gone, and the little broken pieces had shrunk again to tiny beads that we couldn't even see - we had a few cooler, damp mornings. We were surprised that a little bit of overnight drizzle had brought the beads back to life again on the tramp - which lead to more jumping fun.

K informs me this is her 'Katy Perry pose'
'You know Mum, Katy Perry on the pink cloud'
Uncle Timmy, I think you are to thank for this. There is a Katy Perry song on the IPad.
K is becoming interested in science and has been asking to do 'experimates' at home. Bi carb and vinegar is about the extent of Mummy's kid friendly experiment knowledge.

K was delighted with the miniature fizzy explosions.

We visited Aunty S at her school fete and had lots of fun. I'm glad we have always encouraged K to give things a go and she is generally keen to try a new ride - even one where it is inevitable that she will fall off.

Such concentration.
We painted with carrots - it is nearly Easter time after all.
K tried to use the carrots like a pencil, but got frustrated that the paint kept running out. I asked her to think about how else she could paint with the carrots.
 Her thinking face.
Ahh - stamping with them worked much better. She still got frustrated though the carrots didn't make perfect lines like she wanted them to.
K decided to put on a ballerina show one Sunday afternoon.

She was a pretty good ballerina - I'm not even sure where she has seen a ballerina before.

The prancing and twirling and toe pointing continued for quite a while.

Eventually though, the ballerina had to make a costume change (put a pair of shorts on under the tutu) so that ballet could turn into gymnastics.
Daddy and K went to a family Easter night at Bunnings. There were a few crafts, some cool animals to pat (a dingo and koala), a little train, free fairy floss and a sausage sizzle. Thanks Bunnings. This little Tinkerbelle had a great time.
