Fish

Our daughter who could not possibly save herself if she fell in the water, is now officially a fish. 6 weeks of being in the water a few times each week and she can now swim the length of our pool (about 15 metres). I'm confident that she would probably make it the length of a 50 metre pool as well. She easily plays for hours in the deep end of the pool and is learning all the time. Today she did a backward somersault for the first time and also figured out she could tread water and swim backwards.

Her swimming stroke of choice is a mixture of breastroke arms and a freestyle/flutter kick, which is working for her at the moment. She has also learnt to do freestyle with breathing, but prefers her own stroke.
Swimming with a friend encourages K to try new things and show off her skills.

Well done K for working on your swimming. We hope we can find you plenty of water in Darwin to continue your development and look forward to seeing what you learn next.
